Walk through Chandni Chowk Markets & Sikh Temple

8am. Heritage Walk through one of the oldest & biggest Indian markets ‘Chandni Chowk’ via its havelis, mosques, Sheesh Ganj (Sikh Temple) called Gurudwara and other landmarks that fill out the history of the seventh planned city of Old Delhi area.

We invite you to see and experience Delhi; not only its well-known tourist destinations but also the lesser known and equally fascinating parts of the city.

FEW WALKS TO LOOK AT….
Chandni Chowk

(These walks are exclusive, with the guide and customized specially for you)

Chandni Chowk is the main street of the old city of Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Chandni Chowk, literally means moonlight square and derives its name from the fact that originally, a canal ran down the centre of the street with pools at major intersections which would reflect moonlight. Today, the stream is gone and Chandni Chowk is an extremely busy road. There are shops, schools, residences, places of worship, old and new along the road.

Jama Masjid

One of the largest mosques in Asia, the Jama Masjid offers an excellent view of the entire old city. This walk takes you through the narrow lanes of old Delhi with mansions, colourful bazaars, Jain temples & stalls selling street food.

Khari Baoli

Khari Baoli is a street in Delhi, India known for its wholesale grocery and Asia's largest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, nuts, herbs and food products like rice and tea.[1] Operating since the 17th century, the market is situated near the historic Delhi Red Fort, on the Khari Baoli Road adjacent to Fatehpuri Masjid at the western end of the Chandni Chowk, and over the years has remained a tourist attraction, especially those in the heritage circuit of Old Delhi.

Sis Ganj Gurudwara

Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, is one of the nine historical Gurudwara in Delhi. First constructed in 1783 by Baghel Singh to commemorate the martyrdom site the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur. Situated in Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, it marks the site where the ninth Sikh Guru was beheaded on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on 11 November 1675 for refusing to convert to Islam.

Paranthe Wali Gali

Gali Paranthe Wali or Paranthe wali Gali is the name of a narrow street in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, India, noted for its series of shops selling paratha, an Indian flatbread.

Bangles Market

The name 'Churi Wali Gali' itself suggests a lane that sells endless varieties of bangles. This lane, dating back to the days of Emperor Shahjahan (woah!), survives as quiet testimony to the glorious days that existed around 400 years ago. The lanes of Chandni Chowk were planned in such a way that only a local person would know the ins & outs of the place which is the case even today; however, very little of the old world charm remains.

More than Just Bangles

Ask for the Churi Walan Chowk where most of the bangle shops are, which are dismally few in number, as compared to the ancient times where the bangle sellers were known to have accessorized even royalty! This is not the scenario today, however, the merchandise is still as beautiful & unique as ever.
